The Innovative Training Group is now a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) offering nationally accredited courses and traineeships (Australian Apprenticeships) in both Business and Information Technology. We also offer several short courses, our ten day I.C.T Empowerment course covers the basics of operating a personal computer and using the internet & email. We also offer short courses with a focus on Effective Supervision, improving your skills in customer service via a Professional First Contact course or expanding your understanding of the 'Mind Your Own Business' accounting package via our MYOB course.

We provide unbiased advice on computer hardware, Internet security, e-mail and computer networking. Our focus is the computer training and computer needs of small business and home users in Gungahlin and surrounding areas.

Donna

Donna Cox-Smith – Shareholder

Qualifications include Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, completing a Diploma in Business (Front Line Management) and Certificate II in Information Technology.

Donna has been involved in computer training for 5 years and worked in Vocational Education and Training (VET) for the last 4 1/2 years assessing Australian School Based Apprentices as well as full time Trainees both in Business and Information Technology. Donna is very passionate about sharing knowledge and skills to develop small and large business.

Matt

Matt Smith – Company Director and Technical Support

Qualifications include a Certificate IV in Information Technology - Client support. Matt is involved in providing technical support and advice to The Innovative Training Group, as well as website, email and online technical administration. Matt has been involved with various aspects of I.C.T. for the last two decades with a recent focus on training as well as desktop and networking support.

Matt has a strong background in I.C.T client support and computer technology. He has well developed trouble shooting, diagnosis and technical analysis skills that have been developed by his experience as a qualified Automotive Engineer and as the holder of a Commercial Pilots licence, these core skills have been enhanced by his varied experience in the I.C.T. industry.

He takes a strong interest in emerging technology to enable business to manage and maintain systems infrastructure remotely. The Innovative Training Group can assess the needs of your business and make appropriate recommendations to make technology work for you.

Larissa

Larissa Zimmerman – Trainer Assessor

Qualifications include, Certificate IV in Assessment and workplace Training, Certificate IV in Fitness, Diploma in Financial services (Consumer education), BSC (Mathematics)

Larissa’s passion is teaching the skills for a healthy mind, body and wallet and she loves seeing people develop their potential. Her career began with graduation from the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1992 where she studied a BSc (Mathematics) followed by graduation from the Royal Military College Duntroon in 1993 to Medical Corps. Whilst posted as Instructor to the Army Logistic Training Centre in 1999 Larissa obtained her Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training.

Larissa then worked for the Australian Federal Police Protective Service as a Family Liaison Officer and in 2005 focused on her financial literacy training business National Financial Fitness. In 2006 Larissa obtained the Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer) and developed the Health and Wealth Program which focuses on financial literacy while incorporating information and activities for a healthy mind and body. Larissa has recently obtained a Diploma in Financial Services in the stream of Consumer Education, possibly being the first person in Australia to study this stream. Larissa looks forward to working in a wonderful learning environment and sharing her skills and knowledge with many.

Dale

Dale McCormac – Trainer Assessor

Qualifications include a Diploma in Business (Front Line Management), Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Certificate IV in Business Administration and she has a strong training background in both IT and Business.

Dale has worked in the Northern Territory and costal New South Wales with a wide range of clients from across the business and private spectrum .

Dale has a strong interest in the link between how people think and learn and has studied NLP techniques to enhance the presentation of the material she is delivering. Dales training style is very adaptable to bring out the absolute best in her student group.

Samantha

Samantha Newman – Administration Trainee

Samantha has previously worked in the Business Administration field in the Northern Territory. Relocating to the ACT to be closer to family, she has brought with her enthusiasm and skill in the area of customer service and organisational skills.

Samantha will be completing her study in the area of Business Administration with The Innovative Training Group and then will continue on to complete her Certificate IV in Business. Samantha is excited to be involved in an organisation that helps build a pathway for the future.
